Hi Lyn

I've only just caught up with your post, what an awful situation to be in. I do hope the neutrophils sort themselves out so you don't have to have a transplant. It must be very worrying for you, to say nothing of the pain you must be in with the continual infections.

I hope your tests today went well, and good luck (and strength!) with the uni visits.

Lyn

Hi Everyone!

Thank you all very much for your kind thoughts and good wishes. You are all such a lovely bunch of guys, I feel quite touched Wub

The blood tests were done yesterday, they did a couple of extra tests as requested by the haematologist so the results won't be back before Thursday, and one has to have a culture prepared so that will be 16 days. I'd like to be positive, as I usually am, but today I've started with another kidney infection! I only finished the Cefalexin on the 14th so its barely had time to get hold. Makes me think the neutrophils aren't picking up and are the reason for these continuing infections.

Felt really rough whilst out shopping this morning so whizzed some stuff in the trolley, checked out and came home. Mike was very pleased at the short trip but less chuffed when we discovered at tea time that we were actually missing stuff that was needed. Had to make something else and Mike will have to go back tomorrow for the items I should have got today!!

I should have been going on a uni visit to Manchester tomorrow but just not well enough so Jake is going with friends. I'm sure he'll have more fun without me anyway and I'll have to go for a scout round another time! Keeping my fingers crossed that I will feel up to a visit to Liverpool with Ian on Saturday.

I go to see my new rheumatologist next Monday, 28th, so that will be interesting ... bet she won't know where to start!
Will update you when the blood results come back.
Thank you all again

Lyn xx

oh Lyn, sorry to hear you have another kidney infection, it's just one thing after another for you!
You are right not to go to Manchester uni tomorrow. Out of all the ones we went to, that was the busiest and most tiring! He'll be fine with his friends they'll be able to have a good look round.
Hope you can get lots of rest now Lyn, and start to feel better soon.

Love and hugs, Doreen xx

Thank goodness you've posted - we've all been worried!

Not another infection, Lyn - so sorry. I'm still keeping everything crossed for good results even though it doesn't look wonderful.

I'll e-mail more fully (or ring) tomorrow.

Lots of love
Jeanxx
